Pobody’s nerfect

In the twenty years of my career, the one thing that has stuck out to me like a sore thumb across all industries is how quick people are to judge someone at work. Whoever said that first impressions are best impressions was abysmally wrong. Be it, someone who is late to a meeting or another who has a one-year gap on their resume, they are quick to be judged, reprimanded, or discarded, often without being given chance to explain themselves. Since when did we become so unforgiving as a society?

I believe that one of the easiest things in life is to judge others. One of the simplest things we can ever do is tell how wrong people are, but before we jump into doing that, I want to entreat you to take some time and think about why they're so "wrong."

It's always easy to make judgments without thinking first because it feels good for a moment when someone else gets punished or put down for making mistakes. But instead, invest your energy in understanding them and find out what their story really looks like on the inside rather than letting yourself be blinded by assumptions at surface-level judgementalism.

When it comes down to it, no two people are completely alike, just like their circumstances aren’t. I mean, if I were to go by first impressions and mistakes, I would have zero friends or business partners by now. Pobody’s nerfect. The sooner we all realize that, the better off we’ll be. Let us go into the world today with an open mind a conscious effort to be more understanding. Who’s with me? Give me a ✋ in the comments below!
